Parent Involvement Policy

Hoover Elementary School Parent Involvement Policy 

  1. Educating students at Hoover Elementary School is a collaborative effort involving the student, the teacher, and the parents working together to achieve high student performance. Parents can participate in their child’s education and receive information in the following ways: 
  2. The Title 1 objectives will be explained, and the previous year’s student performance will be shared during our Annual Title 1 Parent meeting. Specific information on individual student performance will be shared at the parent conferences in October at our parent meetings, we will solicit parent feedback about the Parent Involvement Policy, the Parent Compact, and the evaluation of parent involvement activities. 
  3. Parents will be notified of their children's academic progress through progress reports (issued in December, March, and June); Parent-Teacher Conferences (held in October and March); and informal contacts throughout the year as needed. 
  4. Parents will receive the student's individual assessment results and the interpretation of those results through a district mailing by June 30. 
  5. A description of grade-level expectations and curriculum standards will be presented to parents in the fall. 
  6. By November 30, a School-Parent Compact will be shared with each Hoover Elementary School student and family. This compact specifies the means by which the school and the parents will build and sustain a partnership to help the student achieve high academic standards. 
  7. Parents are encouraged to volunteer in the classroom or special events. Parents can even help from home by preparing instructional materials or in other ways. Parents are encouraged to contact the teacher or the office for volunteer opportunities. 
  8. Information regarding the school and activities will be sent home in the form of newsletters, flyers, website posts, or through phone calls and ParentSquare. 

Escuela Elemental Hoover Reglamento de Participación de los Padres 

  1. Educar a los estudiantes en la Escuela Elemental Hoover requiere un esfuerzo colaborativo entre el estudiante, el maestro y los padres, al trabajar juntos para lograr un alto nivel de rendimiento estudiantil. Los padres pueden participar en la educación de sus estudiantes y recibir información de las siguientes maneras: 
  2. Se explicarán los objetivos de Título 1 y compartirán los resultados del rendimiento estudiantil del año previo durante la reunión de padres. Información específica sobre el rendimiento estudiantil se compartirá en las conferencias de padres en noviembre. En la reunión de enero o febrero se solicitará las opiniones de los padres sobre el Reglamento de Participación de los Padres, el Acuerdo entre la Escuela y los Padres y la evaluación de actividades con participación de padres. 
  3. Se notificará a los padres sobre el progreso académico de sus hijos a través de informes de progreso (emitidos en diciembre, marzo y junio); conferencias de padres y maestros (celebradas en octubre y marzo); y contactos informales durante todo el año según sea necesario. 
  4. Los padres recibirán los resultados individuales de las evaluaciones de su estudiante y la interpretación de esos resultados por correo del distrito para el 30 de junio. 
  5. Se presentará a los padres con una descripción de las expectativas y los estándares del currículo a nivel de grado en el otoño. 
  6. Para el 30 de noviembre, se firmará un Acuerdo entre la Escuela y los Padres para cada estudiante de la Escuela Elemental Hoover. Este acuerdo especifica los medios por los cuales la escuela y los padres edificarán y mantendrán una asociación para ayudar al estudiante a cumplir con un alto nivel de estándares académicos. 
  7. Se anima a los padres a ser voluntarios en las aulas o para eventos especiales. Los padres aún pueden ayudar desde su hogar preparando los materiales de instrucción o de otras maneras. Animamos a los padres a contactar al maestro o a la oficina para informarse sobre oportunidades para voluntarios. 
  8. Información referente a la escuela y actividades será enviada a casa en el Noticiero o por teléfono, en ParentSquare.
