School-Parent-Student Compact

The purpose of the School-Parent-Student Compact is to communicate a common understanding of school and home responsibilities to assure that every student attains high standards and a quality education at Hoover Elementary School.

Hoover School Staff will support student learning in the following ways:

  • Provide a high-quality curriculum and instruction in a supportive and effective learning environment that enables children to meet or exceed grade -level academic standards.
  • We will hold parent -teacher conferences in October for all students and again in February and March for most students. Parents can discuss their child's progress with the teacher.
  • We will provide parents with reports on student progress in December, March and June. However, we are willing to discuss progress at any time.
  • Staff will be available to speak to parents as needed. Parents can leave messages for a call back within a reasonable amount of time.
  • Parents are welcome and encouraged to volunteer and participate in their child's education.

Parent/Guardian will support their children's learning in the following ways:

  • Encourage attendance at 95% or higher. (that would be about 8 days absent for the year)
  • Ask my child about his or her work and check homework for completion.
  • Attend parent teacher conferences and call with any concerns or questions.
  • Read all school notices that go home and return any information as requested.
  • Stay informed and involved in my child’s education.
  • Encourage my child to follow the Community Agreements (listed below).

  • Students will support their own learning by following the Community Agreements:
