A $10,000 Boost For Classrooms — Burlington and AdoptAClassroom.org

A group of people stand in a store aisle holding a large check, with "WOW" balloons floating above them and shelves of merchandise in the background.

A new school year comes with plenty of excitement. For teachers at Kennedy Elementary and Hoover Elementary, it also comes with a little extra help getting their classrooms ready.

Thanks to a partnership with Burlington and AdoptAClassroom.org, Kennedy and Hoover will each receive a $5,000 grant to put toward the supplies and materials their teachers need for students.

Providing Tools for Learning

The grants come as Burlington celebrates the opening of new stores in the Salem-Keizer community. Through its nine-year national partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org, Burlington has helped provide classroom resources for more than 1.5 million students across the country.

Now, that support is reaching students right here in Salem-Keizer.

Teachers at Kennedy and Hoover can use the grants to choose the materials that will be most useful in their classrooms—whether that’s supplies for a hands-on lesson, materials that make learning more engaging or everyday items that help keep the classroom ready for students.

Investing In A Strong Start

AdoptAClassroom.org believes teachers should have the tools they need to teach and students should have the resources they need to learn. That simple idea is making a difference for educators and students at Kennedy and Hoover as they begin a new school year.
